Speedway Children's Charities was founded in 1984 by Bruton Smith, Chairman of Speedway Motorsports, Inc. and Sonic Automotive, who wanted to give back to the community. Speedway Children's Charities provides funds to charities that meet the direct need of children. From mentoring programs to camps for special-need children, SCC best affects children's lives by supporting organizations that work tirelessly to see that children's needs are met and that no child is left behind regardless of illness, social environment or disability. Thanks to the generosity of our many supporters, the Atlanta Chapter was able to distribute more than $212,000 to 22 local charities at its annual Christmas Celebration in December.
