The Ryan Newman Foundation and the Atlanta chapter of Speedway Children's Charities are co-hosting Harvest Nights, a charity reception and auction presented by Alltel Wireless. The event will also feature live musical entertainment and an auction sponsored by EasyCare with premiere autographed sports items including a Tony Stewart fire suit, Felix Sabates sheet metal, Jeff Gordon die-cast car, Jimmie Johnson race shoes, Dwyane Wade Miami Heat Jersey, Derek Jeter New York Yankees Jersey, as well as memorabilia autographed by Ryan Newman and Kasey Kahne. The Ryan Newman Foundation was founded by NASCAR Nextel Cup Series driver Ryan Newman and his wife, Krissie in January 2005. The mission of the foundation is to educate and encourage people to spay/neuter their pets and to adopt dogs and cats from animal shelters; to educate children and adults about the importance of conservation so the beauty of the great outdoors can be appreciated by future generations; and to provide college scholarship funding through the Rich Vogler Scholarship program to students interested in auto racing careers.
